Welcome to my Integrative Counselling practice, where we work collaboratively to identify the most effective approach for your unique challenges, whether it's co-dependency, low self-esteem, bereavement, anxiety, or depression. I frequently utilize Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) due to its proven effectiveness in addressing a variety of concerns. Treatment
Approach

I don't believe "one size fits all" I'd like to explore what the presented issue is and see what model would work best to overcome it.

Most people seek therapy for two reasons:

1) The circumstance they are in (eg. difficult marriage), or

2) The feelings that circumstance brings (eg. hopeless).

They may believe that "If only my circumstances were different or these feelings were lifted or improved, my life would be okay..."I help clients to look beyond the obvious. Sometimes it might take adjusting some thoughts, other times, looking into past wounds that reinforced certain present issues.

Therapy Plan

1

Complimentary Call

I offer a complementary consultation on the phone (15 minutes). We use this time for any question you may have regarding the counselling. No booking obligation.

2

Booking and Preparation

Once an appointment is booked, I send 3 forms to fill out: basic personal information, counselling agreement and online counselling agreement.

3

Assessment

First session: Assessment. This session will last 1 hour. It will include a set of questions regarding your previous (or none) counselling experience, lifestyle and health, mental health and counselling goals.

Next Steps:

I propose we meet for 6 weeks in a row and on the 6th session we do a short (10-15 minutes) evaluation to see what's worked, what hasn't, what we should do more of, or less of and most importantly we explore if there is anything "we are not talking about" After this evaluation will be able to assess how to continue the therapeutic process.

Types of Therapy

  • Integrative

  • Christian Counselling

  • Cognitive Behavioural (CBT)

FAQs

Common Questions

Cost of session and payment

Each session is £50.

There is a waiting list for reduced fees. Please enquire here.

Payment: Bank, PayPal and cash (if we are meeting in person)

How long are therapy sessions?

The duration of therapy session is 50 minutes for the counsellee.

The counsellor spends about 15 additional minutes (5 minutes before the client joins the session to read through the last meeting and 10-15 minutes after the session to write notes on significant points that came up during the session)

How long will I be in therapy?

This is very much dependent on the issue. I propose to have 6 sessions in a row. Evaluate progress and discuss the way forward. Some clients want to work on a very specific issue and end sessions when the desired goal has been achieved. Other trauma-based experiences take longer to unpack and heal. Yet, some other people's therapeutic process came to a closure but they want to have “maintenance sessions” once a month or even more sporadic.

Do I need anything for my sessions?

Yes, I suggest you have a journal for counselling use only and a pen.

Sometimes I send material to read or assignments to work on in between sessions. It’s best to have them ready for the following session.

What if I need to cancel at the last minute due to an emergency?

Cancellations made in less than 24 hours are fully paid regardless of the reason.
